Rural Nicosia

Embark on a Journey Beyond Nicosia's Urban Pulse

Escape The City

The rural side of Nicosia offers a rich blend of authentic experiences, where visitors can immerse themselves in the region’s vibrant culture, stunning nature, and delicious local flavors. Villages like Σιά (Shia), Αγιά Βαρβάρα (Agia Varvara), and Καμπιά (Kampia) are known for their agricultural traditions, producing fresh olive oil, honey, and halloumi. In Φικάρδου (Fikardou) and other villages like Γούρρι (Gourri and Φαρμακάς (Farmakas), you can enjoy hearty meals in local tavernas that showcase the best of Cypriot cuisine.

Weekends are ideal for exploring the region’s markets and festivals, where local products and traditions come alive. The countryside’s natural beauty, from the pine forests of Ξυλιάτος (Xylatos) to the peaceful squares of Λυθροδόντας (Lythrodontas), is perfect for outdoor activities and relaxation.

Nicosia’s rural villages are also home to centuries-old churches, like the Church of Agios Mamas in Λυθροδόντας (Lythrodontas), offering both spiritual enrichment and a glimpse into the island's Byzantine past. Whether you’re seeking great food, history, or spiritual retreats, the rural side of Nicosia is a must-visit destination for an unforgettable experience.
