Starting from the impressive Russian church in front of the Tamassos Metropolis, head towards the Machairas Monastery, passing through the dense pine forest and enjoying the narrow, uphill road that sets the tone for adventure.
Stop for a moment at the upper side of the monastery and take in the breathtaking view of Nicosia, while admiring the layout of the monastery and the striking statue of hero Grigoris Afxentiou. Your route continues through the picturesque village of Lazania, the traditional village of Gourri, and reaches the fairytale-like, abandoned village of Fikardou, where the adobe houses preserve the charm of a bygone era. There, you can take a brief stop to explore the village’s history.
