This route offers a unique opportunity for cycling enthusiasts to enjoy one of the most beautiful landscapes of Nicosia while experiencing the authentic hospitality of the local residents. Stopping at one of the traditional villages, you’ll meet locals who will gladly share stories of the area and introduce you to the local culture.

Cycling along the route is mesmerizing, with lush pine forests and vineyards that bring life to famous local products such as palouzes, soutzoukos, zivania, and wine. If you visit during September and October, you’ll have the chance to enjoy grape festivals and taste fresh local delicacies.

The route is challenging, with several uphill sections that boost your adrenaline, but your efforts will be richly rewarded. At the highest point, the view of Nicosia and Limassol is breathtaking and will fill you with awe.

Each village along the route offers cozy corners and coffee shops where you can stop, rest, and enjoy the company of the locals, getting to know the heart of the Cypriot countryside. 

Road bike

The entire route takes you through stunning natural beauty, with pine trees and several high vantage points offering breathtaking views over the forest and Nicosia. This route also has cultural and religious significance, with key points of interest including the Church of St. George in Alona, nestled among the narrow streets of the village. In Palaichori, you can visit the Church of the Transfiguration of the Savior, which has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000.
