The route starts from Lythrodontas, a beautiful village that serves as the gateway to the Machairas National Forest Park, an earthly paradise filled with pine trees, rich flora, and fauna, ideal for cyclists and nature enthusiasts.
Shortly after leaving Lythrodontas, you’ll find yourself cycling through dense pine forests, reaching the Monastery of Archangel Michael in Analiontas. This small monastery, perched on a hill, offers stunning views of the lush valley, providing the perfect opportunity for a brief stop and a photo of the landscape.
The route continues towards Marki, Agia Barbara, and Alambra, where in some areas, you may encounter increased traffic. However, the beauty of nature quickly rewards you as you return to a verdant landscape.
Upon reaching Sia and Kornos, you’ll have the chance to stop for a coffee or a traditional snack. In Kornos, you can visit one of the workshops specializing in traditional clay crafts. From there, the final section of the route takes you through the enchanting forest of the small village of Delikipou before returning to Lythrodontas.

Route of the clay and Pine Forest
The route begins in Lythrodontas, leading into the Machairas National Forest Park, a paradise for cyclists and nature lovers. Cycling through dense pine forests, you’ll reach the Monastery of Archangel Michael in Analiontas, offering stunning views.
The journey continues through Marki, Agia Barbara, and Alambra, where some traffic may be encountered. In Sia and Kornos, you can stop for a coffee or visit traditional clay workshops.
The final section passes through the forest of Delikipos before returning to Lythrodontas. With a distance of 52 km and +700m elevation, this moderate difficulty route is on asphalt and follows a clockwise direction.
The route is generally safe with little car traffic and no sharp slopes.
